When writing history, an individual's perceptions is his or her reality. For some historians, writing a distorted view of past current events is commonplace and the viewpoint of those individuals whose history is being discussed is rarely given. Joseph Brant happened to be one of the few and the lucky, an individual who was able to give a viewpoint of European and American civilization during the 1700s from the position of being Native American. This article will discuss Mr. Brant's opinion about European and American civilization and the advise he gives to the dominant culture for a better life.
